Underpass

Waterbury, Connecticut

Another recent 8x10. Aside from finding these structures interesting, it's a way to shelter from the rain while still working with the rainy conditions.

Sure, of course. I had to suppress tons of shadow data to get back to the feel of the situation for this "print", because film can encompass all that range, and still read flat to the scanner. It was about a 5 or 6 second exposure at f/32 (it was really dark in the shadows and I figured f/32, while wimpy, was enough to hold focus over the range) under the stormy overcast sky, which was still very bright, compared to the detail under the overpass, but was controlled with PMK development. Five or six seconds at f/32, and be there. Works.
