On the Rocks

Torrington, Connecticut

As often as I've walked past this tiny liquor store across the street from the town's post office, I've thought that the pun-ish business name carried an ominous double entendre. They were thinking of cocktails, but the older, dire, seafaring usage seems now to be in effect.

I've seen so many liquor stores throughout Connecticut in the most unusual buildings. Some are very elaborate places, and many are very non-descript. I've yet to see one go out of business though. That must say something. This one looks like they can't even carry enough inventory to make a good business.
